Trade Winds Lounge
About This Spot
Stepping into Trade Winds Lounge feels like slipping into a cherished neighborhood tavern where the city's rich history softly hums beneath the glow of warm lighting and the murmur of friendly conversation. Nestled on Charlotte Street in St. Augustine’s oldest stretch, this cocktail bar carries the unique grace of time — a place where both locals and travelers find an inviting pause from the day’s bustle.
The pace here is unhurried, the atmosphere comfortably alive with the sounds of live music that weave seamlessly into the night. It’s the kind of spot where familiar faces enjoy a drink while newcomers quickly settle in, drawn by the genuine warmth of the staff and the easy camaraderie around them. The soundtrack ranges from soulful oldies to spirited rhythms, often led by musicians whose presence has become a living thread in the fabric of the venue.
Drinks at Trade Winds Lounge tell their own stories, from expertly poured classics to refreshing island-inspired concoctions that pair beautifully with shared moments. Whether it’s a smooth Manhattan, a vibrant Mojito, or a punch that beckons you to linger, each sip feels part of a larger experience — one that combines well-crafted flavors with the lively energy swirling through the crowd.
The free popcorn, a humble but thoughtful touch, adds a cozy, genuine note to the night, encouraging a casual ease that stays long after the last song plays. Here, the crowd isn’t just passing through; they’re part of something that feels like a laid-back celebration of the city’s character, the music, and the simple joy of gathering.
Trade Winds Lounge is less about flash and more about heart. It’s a place to come in from the Florida heat or a sudden rain shower, find a seat, and settle into an evening shaped by friendly bartenders, rhythmic tunes, and a shared sense of place that feels both timeless and immediately welcoming.

Can’t say enough good things about this place! It’s the oldest tavern in the oldest city in the US. The staff were all so nice and busted they’re butt’s. This place was packed all three nights we went. Live music, we especially loved Mark Hart, who I was told has been playing there for 38 years. Our first night we had Sara as our waitress and she was phenomenal! They all were actually but she’s the only name I got. We met new friends and can’t wait to come back to St.Augustine and back to Trade Winds!

Was in St. Augustine for the holidays. This spot is great and was one of our favorite places for a drink.. 12 dollars for two well drinks , very prompt service , friendly bartenders and great vibes. The music is great , a welcome oasis away from the touristy places in town.

We found Tradewinds online. They don't have a great, informational Facebook. Turns out they have live music every night. The guys playing were fantastic! Bartenders were very friendly and attentive. Fun atmosphere. People were dancing and having a blast! Drinks were flowing and the pour was good. We will be back for an overnight on our way home!!!

We ducked in here to avoid a late evening rain shower. Nothing fancy. In fact, quite far from fancy. But the staff was quite friendly, the prices were cheap for touristy St. Augustine, and there was some talented live music to help us wile away the storm. It was a Sunday, so there was an NFL game on the overhead TV that seemed to attract a crowd of local Philly fans which added a "neighborhood bar" atmosphere.

What a great place and loads of fun. We stumbled upon this music venue while we were out walking. Got in early with great seats for the music. Most of the crowd was middle age and mature while the bands played many of the “oldies” late 80’ and 90’s The food looked good but we had already eaten somewhere so didn’t try it. The drinks were plenty and not too bad prices. The wait staff was absolutely awesome and remembered what we preferred for drinks even though the place got jam packed. We did not have to wait for drinks at all the entire time we were there.

The staff were great and the atmosphere was incredible. Definitely stop by and grab a drink or two if you’re in the area!

This place is awesome! Great location, great service and the band was fantastic! Happy to see Billy Annin (Animal) back on drums! Katie was our server and she works so hard and always keeps a smile on her face. Amber was bartending and the drinks were flowing. Paul was managing the crowd flow and was so calm and friendly the entire time. We will be back!
